Responsible and sustainable international development

As an international naval defence player, Naval Group is present in 17 countries and 9 sites in France. The group pursues a responsible and sustainable international development policy based on innovative partnerships within the framework of transfers of skills.

As close as possible to our customers internationally

Naval Group has created international centres of excellence in order to deepen its knowledge of its customers, place them at the heart of the innovation process and thus build a unique offer for each navy.

These centres make it possible to forge links with research institutes and universities, local authorities and partners, thus promoting the group’s reputation locally. This also helps drive the economic dynamism of the local naval industry. Other benefits include developing collaborations with researchers and academics from other horizons, giving us the advantage of a different perspective and approach to various issues.

Our innovation

Our international presence

Boosting the French naval industry

Naval Group is a major player in the French naval sector. The group builds some of the most complex in the world, notably thanks to the highly specialised skills of its employees across nine sites in France.

With tens of thousands of indirect jobs generated in its employment areas, representing 90% of the added value created, Naval Group is a driving force in the French shipbuilding industry.

Its growth brings in its wake that of the entire naval defence technological and industrial base (DTIB), i.e. that of the suppliers and subcontractors that depend on its activity. Aware of this economic responsibility, Naval Group also demonstrates “responsible development” by creating value sustainably.

Naval Group is an employer, investor and partner, as well as an important local buyer in each of its employment areas. The largest share of the added value created by the group is in France, where most of the group’s sites and workforce, subcontractors and suppliers are located. Around 85% of purchases are ordered from companies located in France, and nearly two-thirds from small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). With the aim of strengthening and developing the most essential suppliers on the panel, Naval Group develops its relations with SMEs over the long term, in line with its responsible purchasing development approach.

La Londe-les-Maures

Naval Group aims to create a centre of excellence for drones, autonomous systems and underwater weapons on the site of Bormettes at La Londe-les-Maures. The key challenges of the program involve reindustrialising a site that has been shut down for more than 30 years to the best environmental standards, strengthening our competitiveness, and improving our attractiveness and our collective efficiency.

This project will make it possible for teams from Naval Group, as well as those from our customer and partner companies, to come together on one and the same site. It includes the transfer of employees from the sites of Saint-Tropez, Toulon-Lagoubran and Ollioules-Euclide.

Apart from the transfer of teams and their activities, the project will enable us to develop our working methods in terms of both tertiary activities and production. The choice of architectural design reflects this desire by creating a modern industrial tool with a functional working environment, designed to promote creativity, collaboration, new ways of working and efficiency.
