Naval Group responds to its customers’ determination to achieve operational excellence by offering a comprehensive range of services covering the complete life cycle of ships and naval infrastructure, thereby helping them maintain their sovereignty, now and in the future.

Our aim is twofold: to optimise the operational readiness of surface and underwater vessels and to modernise them to meet new threats and new capability needs. Our service offering also includes a full range of training and practice solutions for sailors and maintenance operators.

Behind the scenes of a multimission frigate’s (FREMM) technical stop

The success of a technical stop, a complex project that extends over several weeks, is guaranteed by a strong sense of teamwork between the French Navy, the Fleet Support Service, the French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA) and Naval Group.

Our service offering

IN-SERVICE SUPPORT (ISS)

Naval Group supports its customers in France and around the world by offering them tailored maintenance solutions. These solutions form part of a wide range of services (overall project management, technical assistance, integrated logistics support, supply of spare parts, execution of works, transfer of technology) responding to the needs of each customer. This support makes it possible to optimise the availability of their surface ships, submarines and naval infrastructure, as well as the sustainability of their fleets and installations.

MODERNISATION AND CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT

Naval Group propose des solutions de modernisation des navires de surface et des sous-marins, et de leurs systèmes, pour adapter leurs capacités aux nouvelles menaces tout au long de leur vie opérationnelle. Ces solutions permettent aux marines de bénéficier de façon incrémentale des nouveaux standards technologiques.

PORT AND NUCLEAR INFRASTRUCTURE

Naval Group designs, upgrades, operates and maintains port and nuclear infrastructure dedicated to naval through-life support (TLS), taking into account the technical and functional needs of its customer navies.

In France, for example, Naval Group works closely with the Defence Infrastructure Department (SID).

CREW TRAINING

Naval Group designs, produces and coordinates customised training programs for its customers. This training can cover the use, operation and maintenance of vessels, as well as design, construction and technical assistance through programs involving the transfer of technology. It may also include the development of training centres and simulators.

Sites in charge of services activities

Brest

The teams at the site of Brest provide maintenance for the French Navy’s military ships based in Brest and Île-Longue (nuclear submarines and surface ships, including defence and intervention frigates), as well as the maintenance and modernisation of their port and nuclear equipment and infrastructure. Naval Group also intervenes for the benefit of our international naval customers.

Toulon

The teams at the site of Toulon provide maintenance for French Navy military vessels based in Toulon (nuclear attack submarines, the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier and other surface ships, including multimission frigates), as well as the maintenance and modernisation of their port and nuclear equipment and infrastructure. Naval Group also intervenes for the benefit of our international naval customers.
